Storefront
Ask exactly what you need — at the point of order.
Engraving on a watch. Allergies for a meal. Date for a delivery. Patient name for a pharmacy order. Add a custom field to any product, set its label and hint — the answer comes through with the order.
What it does
Add fields to individual products: text input, long-text textarea, dropdown, checkbox, date, file upload, plus visual separators to group them. The customer fills them in on the product page before adding to cart. Their answers travel with the order and show up in the order detail in your dashboard.
Who it's for
Made-to-order businesses where each order has different requirements. Cake studios (recipient name, age, message). Florists (card message, occasion). Engravers and personalisation merchants. Pharmacies (patient name and date of birth). Tutors and consultants (preferred date and topic). Any service that needs more than just "what" the customer is buying.
How it works
- On any product, open the Custom Fields card and click Open Fields Editor. Add a field — pick its type (text input, textarea, checkbox, dropdown, date, file upload).
- Set the field label and an optional placeholder hint. Use a Separator to visually group related fields when you have several.
- The customer fills the fields on the product page, then adds to cart. Answers flow into the order detail in your dashboard.
When to use it
Use custom fields the moment your WhatsApp messages start asking the same question every time. If you find yourself replying "what name should I put on the cake?" three times a day, that question belongs on the product page as a required field.
Frequently asked questions
Can I have different fields on different products?
Yes — fields are per-product. A custom-cake product asks for recipient name; a generic cupcake doesn't.
Can customers upload an image (e.g. for engraving)?
Yes — file upload fields support images and PDFs. Useful for personalisation merchants.
Will the answer print on the receipt?
Yes — field answers travel inline with each item, so they appear on the order detail and on Order Print templates that include the items list.
Can I make a field required?
Not today — every custom item field is optional. If a response is critical, add "(required)" to the field title so the visitor knows to fill it in, and spot-check the incoming orders before accepting them. A required-flag is on the roadmap.
Can I reuse the same fields across many products?
Fields are configured per item. If you need the same set on many items, set them up on one item first, then replicate the configuration on the others.
