Get a message in front of every visitor — without redesigning the page.
A "Pick a delivery date" pop-up before browsing. A "Closed for Hari Raya" top-bar with a countdown. An age verification gate. A flash-sale banner showing your latest coupon code with a one-tap Copy button. Add it from the dashboard, schedule it, done.
What it does
Two surfaces. Pop-ups are modals that show on first visit — pick from four types (welcome message, yes/no verification, date selection that respects your closed days, or a notice the visitor must acknowledge). Optional image, optional Required mode that blocks dismissal, optional cookie that suppresses the popup for N days. Announcements are slim top-bars with custom colors and one of five actions: text only, countdown timer, a coupon code with a Copy button, a button link, or a text link.
Who it's for
Any merchant running a time-limited promotion or announcement. A retail shop kicking off a sale. A restaurant pushing a new menu. A clinic announcing extended hours. A florist running Mother's Day pricing for a week. If the message matters to most visitors, this is faster than rewriting product copy.
How it works
- Compose the message — text, optional image (pop-ups only), and one of the action types.
- Set scheduling and visibility — start/end dates so it activates and expires on its own, and optionally restrict it to business hours or after-hours only. For pop-ups, choose whether a cookie suppresses re-display and for how many days.
- Save. Stack multiple pop-ups in display order, or queue several announcements with a priority order — only the highest-priority active announcement shows at a time.
When to use it
Best for short-burst messages where the date matters. For evergreen messages ("free delivery over $50"), put them in the storefront footer or a Custom Page instead — pop-ups burn through their welcome fast.
Frequently asked questions
Will it show every time the customer visits?
For pop-ups, you decide. Turn the cookie off and the popup shows every visit; turn it on and the same visitor only sees it once until the cookie duration (in days) expires. Top-bar announcements stay visible the whole time the schedule is active.
Can I A/B test two different banners?
Not natively today — you would run one banner for a period, swap to the other, and compare. Native A/B testing is on the roadmap.
Will pop-ups hurt my SEO?
Google penalises intrusive interstitials on mobile. Skip a forced popup on the first storefront landing unless you genuinely need one (age gate, date picker), and always preview on mobile before publishing a heavy popup.
Can a banner show a coupon code?
Yes — the Coupon Code action picks an existing coupon and renders it on the bar with a one-tap Copy button. The customer copies the code and applies it at checkout. If you want one-click auto-apply instead, use the Button Link action and point it at your coupon's share URL (?coupon=CODE) from the Coupons share modal.
Can I make a popup that visitors must complete before browsing?
Yes — mark it Required and visitors can't dismiss it without finishing the action. Useful for age gates, date pickers, or notices that need explicit acknowledgment.
